Created by Julio Torres, Ana Fabrega and Fred Armisen, Los Espookys is a wry comedy series that follows a group of friends that turn their love of horror into an oddball business in an eerie Latin American country. Even better, there’s a nod to valets and the parking industry. Fred Armisen’s recurring character plays a “benign, beloved uncle, who is happily living his own career dream as a parking-valet legend in LA.”
Primarily in Spanish with English subtitles, the TV show has received positive reviews from Vulture and The New Yorker Magazine. The latter describes the show as “off-kilter humor that’s silly and satisfying”. It’s the perfect binge watch for the season and fans of the Saturday Night Live alum’s quirky brand of humor (think Portlandia). Right now, you can stream the series on Amazon Prime, Hulu, and HBO.
